Silicon ( full) breast prosthesis
When the right bra has been selected and fitted, it is a time to fit the breast prosthesis.
An external silicone breast form will simulate in wight, softness and response the natural
breast tissue.
Silicone gel is nearly the same density as the natural breast, what means a breast form of the
same size would be the same weight as a remaining breast. This started in 1970s a production
of traditional breast prosthesis. They are the closest in weight to balance your body.
In recent years, in response to women request, manufacturers started to produce prosthesis
lighter than the traditional by lowering the density of silicon (and the prosthesis) with
lightweight fillers. This way the prosthesis can be lighter up to 50%.
Because of different body types, undergone surgery, and lifestyle, every breast prosthesis has
to be fitted individually.
After mastectomy there are four basic shapes of silicone breast forms:
regular weight 30% lighter
regular weight 25 % lighter
g
regular weigh regular weight 30 % lighter
35% lighter
regular weight 20% lighter
attachable with pebble-like back attachable with smooth back custom hand made
temperature equalizes with special removable soft back molds gently to uneven chest

Silicone partial prosthesis
After lumpectomy or other breast conserving surgery, if the breast is uneven or asymmetrical,
there is a line of partial breast prosthesis to meet specific needs. They are developed to
provide the extra fill in the right spot, to gain a symmetrical appearance, to balance for
natural look. Some have a moldable back for comfort, some have an adhesive on the back for
extra security, all are easy to use when properly chosen. Our fitter will work with you to find
the shape and size that fits you the best.

30 - 40% breast cancer patients develop lymphedema. Lymphedema is an abnormal
accumulation of protein-rich fluid caused by injury to lymph vessels and/or removal or damage of
lymph nodes during surgery, chemotherapy or radiation. Compression therapy helps to keep
lymphedema under control. In majority cases, ready to wear garment can be used (see our
"Products" pages). If the measurements of your affected extremities are outside of the ready to
wear tables, we will custom made them for you. Please call for appointment.

use it. Silver is safe and natural inhibitor of microbes causing infections and odor often
accompanied Lymphedema. In addition, silver improve circulation, dissipate heat away from the
body, and wicks moisture. These added features keep the garment drier and more comfortable.
